The Bolt Pro 2 is the newest eRig from Dabado. It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan the Dabado product line (the classic Bolt, Bolt 2, and the original Bolt Pro), so I was super excited to try this one out. Let take an in depth look at the performance, features, and appearance of the Bolt Pro 2 and see how it compares to other popular dab rigs.
How to use the Bolt Pro 2
While the Bolt Pro 2 is the newest product in the Dabado lineup, the functionality is very similar to their other products (or really any other dab e-rig). So if you’re upgrading from one of the other Bolt products, then you already know what to do.
The first thing you’ll need to do is attach the nail and the glass to the base. This is extremely easy, just screw them on and you’re good to go. There are three different types of nails included: titanium, quartz, and ceramic. They all have different functionality and there is no “best” material for dabbing. It’s all a matter of personal preference.
To start heating up the nail, you’ll either click the button three times (for low heat) or five times (for high heat). This simple one-button activation method makes the Dabado Bolt Pro 2 extremely easy and intuitive to use. There are no complicated settings to figure out. Just press that button and start dabbing.
The “low” heating setting will heat your wax up to 680-690F, which is great for enhancing flavor. The “high” setting goes all the way up to 700-720F, which is idea for creating large clouds. There is a digital display screen that shows you the current temperature so you know exactly what to expect. The one problem that some of you may have with the Bolt Pro 2 is that there is no precision temp control. You can only choose from “low” and “high”. The good news is that these settings are perfectly optimized for either flavor or clouds, so you don’t have to spend a ton of time trying to figure out which setting to use.
Appearance and manufacturing quality
The Dabado Bolt Pro 2 looks and feels very similar to the original Bolt Pro. The battery base is ergonomic and fits perfectly in my (average-sized) hand. The Bolt Pro 2 feels like a high-end, well-manufactured product. I dropped it a few times (without the glass) and didn’t notice any damage. This thing is solid.
The main difference between the Bolt Pro 2 and the original Bolt Pro is that this upgraded model features a digital display screen. You can really do much with it, but it does display the temperature which is extremely useful. Let’s be honest, once you take a monster dab hit it’s possible that you’ll forget what temperature you set this thing to, so it’s always good to have a reminder.
The Bolt Pro 2 also features a removable heating element. You most likely won’t have to worry about it, but if you do end up needing to replace it then it’s very easy.
How long does the Bolt Pro 2 battery last?
The battery life is comparable to other similarly-priced dab rigs. You’ll get approximately 15 heat cycles before you need to recharge. Let’s be real: it’s highly unlikely that you’re going to take more than 15 hits off of a dab rig in one sitting, or even in one day. So the Bolt Pro 2 battery is going to be more than adequate for even the most hardcore dabbing enthusiast.
Conclusion
The Dabado Bolt Pro 2 is a worthy successor to the original Bolt Pro. If you already own an eRig from Dabado, I probably wouldn’t upgrade to this one just because the other products are already awesome and this one doesn’t bring enough new features to be worth an upgrade.
But if you’re looking to buy your first dab rig, this is definitely the one to go for. It’s better than the other products in the Dabado lineup. It’s ease of use, cool design, and high-quality performance makes the Bolt Pro 2 the only real choice when it comes to dab rigs in 2018.
The best place to buy the Bolt Pro 2 eNail kit is directly from Dabado.
