In this weeks’ review I’m taking a look at the DigiFlavor Lynx RDA. I’m fairly excited to be reviewing an RDA. With the newfound popularity of RTAs and sub-ohm tanks, it’s been a while since I’ve gotten my hands on one of these bad boys.
Digiflavor isn’t as widely known as some other manufacturers in the vaping industry, but their profile has been rising thanks to some of the awesome products they’ve put out lately. I previously reviewed their RTA and was impressed by the build quality and performance. So I’m hoping that the Lynx will be of similar or better quality.
Alright, let’s get started with my honest review of the Lynx RDA.
Appearance
Similar to many RDAs, the Lynx features all-metal construction (including the drip tip). The packaging doesn’t say what type of metal, but I’m fairly certain that it’s stainless steel. Either way, it feels really solid and it’s going to be virtually impossible to break, which is one of the benefits of using an RDA over a fragile glass tank.
The Lynx features a 26mm height, 25mm base diameter, and a weight of approximately 1.76 oz.
All around this is a good-looking little RDA that didn’t look out of place on any of the mods that I tested it out on.
Performance
The Lynx is geared towards two different types of vapers: cloud chasers and mouth to lung vapers.
There are two types of airflow slots to accommodate each type. You get the bottom airflow for mouth to lung vaping and the side airflow (accessed by twisting the top half aka the airflow control ring) for cloud chasing. I’m not a huge fan out mouth to lung vaping, but I can attest to the fact that the side airflow slots are GREAT for cloud-chasing. Your results may vary, but I found that they gave me the optimal amount of airflow for blowing ginormous clouds.
The build deck features a two post design, which is standard for most RDAs. Nothing special there. However, the posts do have a spring clamp mechanism that is able to accommodate virtually any type of coil. I’m not sure why the spring clamps aren’t a standard feature on every single RDA, because they really do make everything easier. Of course something like that is user preference, so if it’s not your thing you might want to look for a different RDA.
The Lynx has a 2ml juice capacity. Nothing groundbreaking, but if you don’t need a ton of juice to get through the day then 2ml is plenty. I didn’t experience any leakage while vaping under normal conditions, so that’s definitely a major plus. Again, most modern tanks and RDAs are leak-proof, so it’s nothing special. Remember a few years ago when it was virtually impossible to find a tank that didn’t leak? Thank god that times have changed!
You can break the Lynx down into three different components: the base, the airflow control ring, and the drip tip. To remove the airflow control ring from the base, just loosen it to the point where the air slots are visible and then keep twisting. It seems like it takes an incredibly long time to fully remove it, but I’m sure that’s just to make sure that you can’t accidentally disassemble it when you’re just trying to get more airflow.
What’s in the box?
You’ll get one Lynx RDA, one spare parts poly bag, and one allen key. Everything you need to get started (other than the coils, of course).
Bottom line
The Digiflavor Lynx doesn’t bring anything new to the table when compared to other modern RDAs, but that’s not a bad thing. Instead it seems like the designers focused on solid construction and craftsmanship instead of trying to wow us with gimmicky features. It has a clean, modern, minimalist design and flawlessly does everything that you would expect an RDA to do.
If that’s what you’re looking for than the Lynx RDA is a great choice and you won’t be disappointed. It’s definitely worth the money in my book.
