Freemax is a brand that’s popular among avid vapers. The company is well-known for developing innovative products. They have e-cigarettes, vape tanks, and coils that can compete with the best in the field. They are currently in the spotlight again thanks to the release of their Freemax Mesh Pro Sub-Ohm tank. It’s a tank that features mesh coils that provide vapers with hits that are rich in flavor.
Let’s get to know more about this tank.
How does it look?
The first thing that many vapers, including us, notice with the Freemax is its size. This is a big tank. It is 55mm long and has a 25mm diameter. The 25 mm number refers to the diameter of the atomizer base. Its tank is 28mm, which is already bigger than other tanks. If you include the bubble tank this diameter increases to around 32mm. This can be an issue with some vapers. The size of the tank may also cause issues with fit.
The design of the tank is eye-catching due to the wide range of color choices. You can get it in black, orange, pink, purple, blue or green. What makes it easy to notice are the swirls incorporated in the design. You know how a bucket of paint looks like while you’re mixing two different colors? That’s what these tanks look like. You have a dominant color with slivers and swirls of other colors thrown in.
The black one looks subdued enough for those looking for a more discreet-looking tank but the other colors are quite playful-looking. Most of these tanks use resin as their build material. There is also a stainless steel one for buyers who are not too fond of colorful tanks.
What kind of drip tips do they have?
Each Freemax tank comes with an 810-resin drip tip. The color of the tip matches the color of the tank so it has a uniform look to it. There are two O-rings on the base of the drip tip. This means that you’ll want another 810-drip tip with O-rings if you want to replace the original one. This ensures that the replacement drip tip will not fall off.
The top cap of the Freemax is resin as well. You can push the top cap outwards to reveal the fill port of this tank. The fill port is large enough that it can accommodate any dropper or bottle needle you have. This is a common problem with other tanks. It’s even wide enough for users to pour e-liquid directly from an open bottle, although we don’t recommend doing that. Some will have fill ports that are too small which makes refilling messy. Messy refills are something that you don’t have to worry about when you have a Freemax.
Can it deliver great vapor?
If you look at the bottom of the tank, you can find the airflow control ring. It uses the same resin material that you can see on the top cap and the drip tip. The control ring is a bit tight. We consider this a good thing because it lets users have better control of their airflow adjustments. Some users prefer loose air control rings but we find them easy to overshoot.
This tank has two airflow slots. These are massive air flow slots that can help users produce a lot of vapor. If you’re a big cloud chaser then you won’t get disappointed with the air flow slots of the Freemax. This tank provides smooth airflow. When it comes to the noise, the noise level during slow drags is just what you’d expect with other sub-ohm tanks. The noise picks up when we took fast hits but not loud enough to be annoying.
You’ll also get the same level of noise when taking fast hits. The noise level picks up though when using single mesh heads. It gets even louder when you close off the airflow a bit. We heard a hissing sound akin to what air escaping from a tire sounds like. This might be a turn-off for some especially for those fond of taking fast and big hits. If you’re more of a slow hits vaper then this shouldn’t be too much of an issue.
How does it perform?
The Freemax is the successor to the Fireluke and the Fireluke Pro. If you’ve used either of these tanks, you already know what to expect. This is a tank that delivers great flavor and huge vapor clouds at their recommended wattages. The Mesh Pro Coils used in this tank is responsible for that. Its coils made the Freemax one of the best sub-ohm tanks for cloud chasers.
The single mesh coil of the Freemax has a rating of 0.15 ohm with a recommended wattage rating of 40-70w. It is a good enough coil but delivers performance that you can easily get from similar coils. The double mesh coil is what sets the Freemax apart. It has a rating of 0.2 ohms with a recommended wattage range of 60-90w. The higher end of the recommended wattage delivers great flavor and vapor.
The triple mesh coil of the Freemax is the one that really got us excited. It has a rating of 0.15 ohm and recommended wattage range of 80-110w. The triple mesh coil uses 3 vertical mesh coils coupled with 3 holes through the wicking slots. These ensure that the e-juice gets to the coils in the fastest way possible. This ensures that the cotton is always saturated with e-juice. The final result is a coil that doesn’t deliver any burnt taste. Vapers are also sure that the flavor they will get is always full-bodied.
The downside with the double and triple mesh coils is their battery consumption. This shouldn’t be surprising anymore though.
Final word
The Freemax Mesh Pro Sub-ohm tank is a tank that will satisfy the demands of vapers looking for great flavor and massive clouds. The aesthetics of the tank may not appeal to everyone but we’ve seen crazier-looking tanks. If you’re after flavor and vapor, this is a tank that can deliver what you need.
