The V2 Series 7 is portable dry herb and e-liquid vaporizer from one of the biggest names in the industry. Is this the best possible portable vaporizer for people who want the option to to switch between vaping different materials? Or would you be better served with a different vaporizer or perhaps multiple vapes that specialize in different materials?
Let’s take a look and find out.
Appearance, Performance, and Ease of Use
The Series 7 is a compact, beautifully designed portable vaporizer. The size and shape are reminiscent of a tube-style mod, so this is definitely larger than pen-style vaporizers (like the V2 Series 3).
The size makes it a perfect fit in your hand, with a comfortable ergonomic feel that is designed to make vaping as comfortable as possible. The fire button is perfectly placed and everything about using this device feels natural. You won’t be fumbling around trying to figure out the best way to hold it or make it work properly.
Everything about the Series 7 is extremely aesthetic, and the all-metal battery gives the impression of a premium, high-end vaporizer. In a vaping market that is flooded with low-quality, low-effort vaporizers, the design of the Series 7 is a breath of fresh air. It seems like V2 actually takes pride in their products and put a large amount of effort into the aesthetics of this device.
Filling the cartridges is extremely simple: just unscrew the mouthpiece and load it up. Then screw the mouthpiece back on and snap the cartridge onto the base and you’re ready to start vaping. It literally doesn’t get any easier. Of course, the cartridges are proprietary, meaning that you can’t use any of your 510-threaded tanks with this device. The only cartridges you can use are the ones that are built by V2. That might be a dealbreaker for some, but if you like to keep things simple then you’ll definitely appreciate the fact that you don’t have to think about the type of tank that you use, since there are no options for tanks other than what V2 makes.
The Series 7 is powered by an 1800 mAH battery, which is powerful enough to last average vapers about a full day before you’ll need to recharge. It also features passthrough charging, so you’ll be able to continue vaping while charging the battery for those times when you just can’t wait.
E-Liquid Cartridge
Anyone who has been in the vaping community for a while now will that this style of e-liquid vaporizer has been out of fashion for a while now. Against all odds, mods have become the most dominant method of vaping e-juice despite their complexity.
Despite the trend, V2 has staked their reputation on these non-mod portable vapes with proprietary e-liquid cartridges.
Honestly, I found that the performance of the e-liquid cartridge was just average. Not disappointing, but nothing special either. If you’re thinking about buying the Series 7 primarily for vaping e-juice, you might want to look elsewhere. But if you’re looking at it as something to vape dry herbs and view the ability to vape e-juice as a nice bonus, then this is still a good choice. It’s always nice to have more options.
Dry Herb Cartridge
Ok, so with the Series 7 you get three temperature settings: 200, 210, and 225 (Celsius).
In my opinion, the dry herb cartridge is where the Series 7 vaporizer really shines. While the previously mentioned e-liquid cartridge gave me the impression that it was an afterthought, it seems like the dry herb cartridge is what this vaporizer was really made for.
Out of the three temperature settings, you’ll most likely get the best results out of using the lowest setting (and it’ll make your herb last longer). I’m a bit of a wild man, so I always like to use the highest possible setting. Even though I know that the lowest setting gives the best results, there’s something that compels me to crank it all the way up every time. No matter which heat setting you choose, you’ll get excellent results and a great quality of vapor when using the dry herb chamber.
Bottom Line
The V2 Series 7 is a great portable vaporizer for dry herb vapers who want the option to dabble with e-liquid as well. The battery life, performance, and design are all top-notch. However, if you prefer the ability to use your own tank you’ll want to look elsewhere, since the Series 7 uses proprietary tanks.
The Series 7 is a versatile and highly portable vaporizer that gives you an excellent value for your money. I definitely recommend it.
